A QR image carries information. The receiving phone decides how to act on it. Start with the intended action, then check the dependency that could stop a visitor from completing it.
| I want to share | What the image contains | Check before publishing |
|---|---|---|
| A website, form, map, or social profile | A web address | The destination must stay available and allow visitors to open it. |
| A guest Wi-Fi connection | Network name and password | Use a supported guest network and replace the card after a password change. |
| A name and phone number | An embedded vCard | The receiving scanner needs contact-import support. |
| A short note or label | The text itself | The message is readable by anyone with the code and cannot change on paper. |
| A PDF or restaurant menu | The document’s public URL | Host the file yourself and test its access while signed out. |
| Several values at once | One payload per image in a ZIP | Use one value per line, up to 100, and keep the source-values file. |
A three-check publishing workflow
1. Verify the content
For a link, open the destination while signed out. For a contact or network, compare the exact details with the intended source. A QR can faithfully encode the wrong value.
2. Verify the export
Inspect the encoded-content panel, download the image, and scan that file. A working browser preview does not prove that a cropped or resized copy is readable.
3. Verify the final placement
Print one sample with its caption, holder, and background. Test it where visitors will use it. Keep a readable address or another way to complete the same task.
What stays on your device
Generation and image scanning run in the browser. Downloads record the latest 100 payloads in local history, including any Wi-Fi credentials or contact details. Saved projects also stay in this browser. You can remove records in History or Projects, or clear this site’s browser data.

There is no editable redirect service, scan counter, document hosting, or account sync. Digital business cards and multi-link pages use public URL parameters and need this site to be available. Protected-link expiry is checked in the visitor’s browser, not enforced by a server.
